My experiment- Working out with and without beet juice.

Tuesday, May 25, 2010 by Natalie Hadley
So I tried a little experiment this past week.  I read on Biotta's main blog that beet juice is perfect for boosting stamina during times of physical activity.  They say that scientists suggest having some juice before working out and you can gain up to 16% more stamina!

I run on my treadmill just about every day. I try to do at least a couple miles every morning, just to stay active.  So I figured it wouldn't be too tough to test the theory of "Stamina & beet juice."

I ran on the first day with just a bottle of water in me.  It was right when I hit the first mile that I found myself feeling a little worn, but I was able to finish 2.5 miles just fine... tired... but fine.

On the next day, I had a glass of beet juice an hour before I ran, and I made sure I didn't look down at the milage until the moment I started feeling worn down... and wouldn't you know?! When I felt worn, I had just hit 1.3 miles!

The next day, I had a glass of juice again and made it just fine to the 1.3 marker again!

Obviously, this could probably use some more testing, and there were other factors that could have played into my feeling different, but it was an interesting home experiment either way!

Enjoy the Juice!
