The American Heart Association: Don't Forget About the Kids

Monday, April 5, 2010 by Mitch B
Did you know that obesity is the number one concern for children in America today?  Parents are more concerned about that than they are drugs or smoking.  As health problems for children continue to grow, so does the emphasis on parents to make sure to intervene and make sure their children are living healthy lifestyles.

The American Heart Association provides many helpful resources to parents that help create a healthy environment for their children.  They give a list of ways to help teach your children about making healthy decisions...
  1. Be a role model- Your children are learning from you!  No, you don't always have to do everything perfect, but just keep in mind that you are the example they are learning from.
  2. Keep the family moving- Plan ways to get everyone active together.  Maybe a family walk, or yard work.
  3. Pick rewarding rewards- Don't make TV or video games a reward, give them healthy rewards that will benefit their bodies.
  4. Stay involved-  Be an advocate!  Teach your children and other children.  Provide a way for them to learn and grow in knowledge.
It's important to remember that Biotta Juices are not just for "grown-ups."  The same health benefits that you find in our heart healthy juice can help your children too.

Maybe instead of sugary, artificially flavored juice in the morning you give your kids a glass of Biotta's Breakfast Blend?  Or a glass of Beet Juice that will help boost their immune system and provide them with many of the vitamins they need!

Note:  Biotta juices are not intended to diagnose, cure or prevent any disease.  We are not medical professionals and are not in a position to provide any medical advice.  We recommend you contact your physician for a dietary regimen specific to your needs.
