What's Your Skin Secret? Carrot Juice of Course

Friday, November 12, 2010 by Jennifer C
We see them on tv, in magazines, and on the silver screen; models and actresses who appear to have perfectly flawless and illuminating skin.  Want to know their secret?  And no, it's not expensive and painful microdermabrasion or $500 bottles of lotions and potions -- the answer is really quite simple and delicious -- carrot juice!

Biotta Pure Organic Carrot Juice doesn't include any additives and study after study has shown its benefit to the skin.  One of the best ways to ensure our skin's health is to keep it hydrated with plenty of moisture by drinking water and carrot juice.  Carrot juice is used to repair skin as well because it promotes the healing of skin tissue.  As one study revealed  "Carrot juice is a valuable source of Vitamin A, which is a major vitamin for skin health. Carrots are rich in antioxidants, including phytochemicals, vitamins and minerals, which protect, nourish and moisturize the skin. Nutrition received from carrots helps to reduce photo-sensitivity to promote skin renewal and protect the skin from sun damage."

So stop spending hundreds of dollars on creams and procedures that claim to renew your skin's vibrant color, and order a few bottles of Biotta Carrot Juice.  In no time, people will be clamoring to know your youth restoring secret!

Fight Cancer with Sauerkraut

Sunday, October 24, 2010 by Jennifer C
What do birth control pills, bottled water, chewing gum, Chinese food, x-rays, and pesticides all have in common?  All of these (along with a massive list of other things) are all supposed contributors to causing cancer.  It seems like everywhere you turn these days, there is another thing that can cause cancer, but I, for one, am going to do what I can to fight back.

Luckily, I have discovered Biotta Sauerkraut juice.  Sauerkraut has a soothing effect on the stomach and is low in calories, but according to sauerkraut.com , it contains a large amount of cancer fighting agents and slows cancer growth.  With all of the benefits, I figure you have nothing to lose, so take your first step in the fight against cancer.

A Healthier Cocktail

Wednesday, October 20, 2010 by Jennifer C
There are two things I know for sure:

1.) Over 70% of Americans are not getting their daily recommended amount of fruits

and

2.) Almost everyone loves happy hour.

While these are seemingly two unrelated topics, I have found a way to solve both of these issues into one, easy-to-make and delicious drink.  The benefits that come from Biotta's breakfast juice are endless, and at only 120 calories a bottle, it is considerably better on the waistline than drinking soda or other fruit juices.  By using this juice as a way to mix up a good cocktail, you are getting to enjoy your happy hour and giving your body the nutrients it needs at the same time.

The simplest and most tasty concoction that I have found is mixing 2 cups of Biotta's breakfast juice with 1 oz of vodka and stir.  To jazz it up, adorn the rim of the glass with an orange slice and there you have it, a refreshing and healthier cocktail that's easy to make.

Frozen Treats Made From Beets

Thursday, September 23, 2010 by Jennifer C
The benefits from drinking beet juice range from reducing blood pressure to contributing to your folic acid intake.  While the beet juice tastes amazing and refreshing on it's own one trick that I have found to up the 'WOW' factor is to make beet popsicles.

These make the perfect low fat and healthy snack for your kids on those hot summer days!  This nutritious treat has no sugar added compared to a standard grape flavored popsicle that has an astounding 8 grams of sugar in each one.  The most cost effective way that I have found to make these are to fill small dixie cups half way up with juice and put either a straw or tongue depressor in the juice.  Freeze these and cut away the paper cup.  Voila... Beet Treats to Beat the Heat!

Sauerkraut Juice and Canker Sores

Thursday, September 16, 2010 by Jennifer C
I have long been a sufferer of canker sores.  They can be one of the most miserable health problems to go through, making it tough to enjoy talking, eating, or chewing gum...

One of the stranger, yet most effective remedies I've come across for canker sores involves swishing sauerkraut juice around in the mouth twice a day.  There have been many people and sources claiming its powerful effect.

The People's Pharmacy says, "Take a tablespoon of sauerkraut juice in your mouth and swish it around morning and night, then swallow it. Do this twice a day and the canker sores should go away. We first heard about using sauerkraut juice to treat canker sores from D.W. in Garland, Texas. His mother had been a dental assistant in the 1930s. Since then we have heard from many people that it can provide rapid relief. One physician who benefited personally arranged for analytical testing of sauerkraut juice and discovered a number of active compounds that may be responsible for its healing properties."

Heartburn? Potato Juice is the answer!

Wednesday, September 15, 2010 by Jennifer C
Many people would agree that heartburn is one of the most miserable feelings one can experience.  And the timing doesn't help either... Right after a nice, big, delicious meal when all you want to do is sit back and relax (it never fails...)

Many over-the-counter drugs provide temporary relief, but the next time it hits, it comes back just as strong.  OTC drugs help at easing the pain, but don't help in curing the problem.

People as far back as the early Native Americans have been resorting to a more natural aid in fighting heartburn- Potatoes!

The Native Americans found that by drinking potato juice mixed with water, they could cure most digestive problems, including heartburn.
According to Helium.com, "After the first few treatments, you should notice a sharp decline in the severity and frequency of heartburn disturbances. Within a few months, you may discover that you rarely suffer from heartburn attacks anymore. In no time at all, you will only be disturbed with heartburn on rare occasions."

It is also a safe prevention of heartburn during pregnancy!  The list of benefits of this organic vegetable juice goes on and on!  For more information on Biotta's potato juice or any of our other products, just check out the website!

Going organic...

Tuesday, September 14, 2010 by Natalie Hadley
I'll admit, when I started drinking Biotta Juices, that was the first step I made toward support the organic movement.  I was never opposed to going organic, I just never took a step back to see how it would be helpful and what possible dangers existed in non-organic foods.

Now that I know more of the actual benefits that exist with supporting organic farmers, I catch myself leaning toward going organic in more foods.  If I see a head of cabbage that is organic right next to another non-organic head, it's an easy decision.

I know that it seems small, but I know that every small effort makes a big difference to a farmer who cares enough to grow organic.
The organic movement fits perfectly with a company like Biotta, they are always watching every aspect of the cultivation and harvesting of the fruits and veggies to make sure it is the healthiest drink possible for the consumer!

Their organic juices range from beet juice to carrot juice to potato juice and everything in between!  Check out the product page to see them all!

Enjoy the Juice!

Beet Juice and Heart Health...

Saturday, September 11, 2010 by Jennifer C
Did you know that cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of Americans every year?  It's been estimated that over 81 MILLION Americans have some form of heart disease.

According to Natural News, "Researchers have found that a glass of beet juice each day beats high blood pressure."

Recent studies have also led scientists to believe that beet juice has a very strong effect against cardiovascular disease.

Here's an excerpt from one study...
"...animals with chemically-induced high cholesterol were fed beet fiber. Compared to the control group, the beet fed animals experienced a total cholesterol drop of 30%, while their triglycerides dropped 40%. Essentially, the beets significantly dropped the animals` risk factor for cardiovascular disease. The animals` HDL (beneficial cholesterol) also increased significantly, offering protective benefits."

My Advice to an Athlete...

Friday, August 20, 2010 by Jennifer C
Just a few days ago, I was having a conversation with a good friend of mine who happens to be a college athlete.  He said that he has been having constant debates with his coaches over what liquids he should be taking in during the season.  Just water? Just Gatorade? Artificially flavored fruit juice? They couldn't land on what would be the best route to take.

It was during this conversation that I kindly stopped him and gave him one recommendation- Beet Juice.  Obviously, you should never cut water, or other nutrient and enzyme building liquids from your diet, but once I explained to him the benefits that beet juice has on the body, I could see the wheels turning.

I don't know if it was my telling him that beets have been proven to boost energy and help people have the stamina to exercise 16% longer...

...or if it was my telling him that it
increases the amount of nitric oxide in the body.  That, in turn, helps blood vessels relax, lowers blood pressure and has anti-inflammatory benefits as well...

...or if it was my explanation of the high levels of calcium that helps improve bone health...

but SOMETHING sparked something in him and he asked, "Where do I buy beet juice??"

I said that there is only one place around that sells 100% Organic Beet Juice, and that is Biotta!  Think you're sold on the idea? Check out the website and see where you can order some today!

Beet Juice During Pregnancy

Tuesday, August 17, 2010 by Jennifer C
It seems like the list of things pregnant mothers need to watch over and maintain for those long nine months just gets longer and longer.  Two major concerns that doctors tell pregnant women to keep an eye on are high blood pressure and anemia.  Did you know these two problems can be combated by one easy solution: Beet Juice!

High blood pressure during pregnancy (referred to as Pre-eclampsia) usually occurs around 20 weeks.  Drinking 4 oz. of beet juice daily around this time can help to balance the sodium/potassium ratio in your blood.*

Anemia is also a common problem women face during pregnancy.  Doctors recommend turning to foods high in iron to help prevent and combat the onset of anemia.  One of beet juice's most healthy attributes is its high levels of iron.

Obviously, drinking any of Biotta's organic vegetable juice and fruit juice would be beneficial during pregnancy.  You can check out this previous post on the benefits of carrot juice to nursing mothers!

Setting Goals Leads to Change!

Friday, August 13, 2010 by Jennifer C
I don't know about you, but I've always been someone who has been very "goal oriented." If I know exactly what I'm reaching toward when I start something, it makes it much easier to track my progress and find motivation to complete a certain task.  This can carry over into any area of life, from work, to relationships, to health.

According to Mind Tools, "By setting sharp, clearly defined goals, you can measure and take pride in the achievement of those goals. You can see forward progress in what might previously have seemed a long pointless grind. By setting goals, you will also raise your self-confidence, as you recognize your ability and competence in achieving the goals that you have set."

Simple things like physical activity and getting a solid amount of sleep can be the perfect place to start setting goals.

A healthy diet can also be a beneficial place to set goals.  I've written before about the recommended servings of fruits and veggies to include in your daily diet.  Keep track of how many servings you get in a day.  Or maybe try a weekly goal... If this is a big adjustment, start small and work your way up.

Remember, it is easier to count your servings by having a glass of Biotta Organic Juice with your lunch or breakfast!  That is one reason we recommend our fresh juices to our consumers!

Maybe it's time to try to have a glass of beet juice every morning?  Or potato juice before your meals to prevent indigestion?

Whatever your goals are, set them and stick with them!  They will benefit your life in many ways!

Celery Juice & Stones...

Friday, August 6, 2010 by Jennifer C
Anyone who has ever had a kidney, urinary, or gall stone knows that they are just about the most painful experience one could ever go through.  The stones form from a buildup of waste that can become stuck when they grow too big and cause severe pain discomfort.

Organic Celery Juice is on the natures best remedies and preventers for stones.  The chemicals in the juice keep the stones from forming and remain small enough for the body to pass pain free!  The happens through celery's amazing ability to flush toxins from the body.

Nitrate Rich Veggies Lower Blood Pressure

Wednesday, August 4, 2010 by Jennifer C
A few years ago, scientists in Sweden conducted a number of experiments and found that nitrate rich vegetables help lead to lower blood pressure!  Below is an except from the study:

Each participant rotated between taking a daily dose of nitrate supplement equivalent to the amount normally found in 150 to 250 gm of a nitrate-rich vegetable including spinach, lettuce, or beetroot for three days, and taking a placebo for a different three days.

The results showed that average diastolic blood pressure was lower after three days of nitrate supplementation than it was after taking the placebo for three days.

Many of the vegetables in Biotta's Juices are packed full of nitrates that will help your body see these same effects!  Biotta has always been dedicated to providing the best quality juice possible that will benefit your body the most, including our beet juice, carrot juice and many others!
